William A Jones

William Jones, 92, entered into rest on Thursday, March 27, 2008.

Mr. Jones was born on February 28, 1916 in Taylors, South Carolina. With pride and honor, he served his country during World War II in the United States Air Force. He had been a resident of Warner Robins since 1952; serving his community by coaching little league baseball and as an active member of the Republican Party. For thirty years, he worked as a Civil Servant at Robins Air Force Base. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Warner Robins, where he once served as a Royal Ambassador's Leader. Gardening, especially in his greenhouse, was one of his favorite hobbies. His wife Mary L. Jones, parents, Pierce and Nanny Jones, and six siblings preceded him in death.

Family includes his son, Don K. Jones (Teri), Warner Robins; sisters, Lucy Coleman, Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Vara Graham, Greenville, South Carolina; brother, Albert Jones, Whitesboro, South Carolina; grandchildren, Keith Jones, Sissy Jones, and Taylor Jones, and Ben Jones, all of Warner Robins; great-grandchildren, Trey, Bailey, and Benjamin Jones.

Originally scheduled for Monday, March 31, 2008, Mr. Jones' memorial service was postponed following the death of his grandson, William Taylor Jones, son Don and Teri Jones.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Concurrent services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the McCullough Funeral Home Chapel for both William Jones and William Taylor Jones. Service times will coincide with the funeral services for his grandson. Interments will be in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Joanna McAfee Childhood Cancer Foundation, P. O. Box 9537, Warner Robins, GA 31095-9537.
