A World War II and Korean War veteran, William B. Wilson Jr., went to be with his Lord and Savior in Heaven on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. He was 95 years old.
Born on September 21, 1925, in Abbeville, Georgia, Mr. Wilson was the son of the late William B. Wilson, Sr. and Emma Jean Keene Wilson. He courageously served in the United States Marine Corps with the rank of Private First Class (PFC) before accepting a position as a Supply Specialist on Robins Air Force Base where he worked until his retirement. Mr. Wilson was a devoted member of Second Baptist Church and enjoyed being a part of the Faith Keeper Sunday School Class. All will forever treasure his legacy of service to his family, church, and country.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilson’s beloved wife of nearly 70 years, Ruby Newsom Wilson; and son, Kenneth Wilson, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children, Billie Ann Canady, William B. Wilson, III, James D. Wilson, and John W. Wilson; as well as a host of beloved extended family members.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Magnolia Park Mausoleum with a funeral service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Mausoleum.
