William 'Bill' D. Self

William "Bill" Self, 79, entered into rest on Monday, December 17, 2012.

Mr. Self was born on October 27, 1933 in Wellston, Georgia. A faithful servant of the Lord, he was a charter member of Oakland Baptist Church since twelve years of age. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. A lifelong resident of Warner Robins, Bill was self-employed as a Developer/Contractor, building many homes and establishments in the community. His parents, James Henry Self and Thelma O'Dell Self; and one brother, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his devoted children, Sherry Self Rucker, Sheila Self Rucker
(Clay), all of Fort Valley and William David Self, II, Perry; the love of his life, Belinda Hughes, Warner Robins; grandchildren, Jami Self, Laci Jade Rucker, Joe Eddie William Rucker III, Lane Rucker, Corey Thompson, Cole and Shayanne Self, and Jason and Jennifer Overstreet; and one niece and one nephew.

Visitation will be Thursday evening, December 20, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012 at Oakland Baptist Church with interment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens. The Reverend Mobley Cross will officiate. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to Oakland Baptist Church, 1509 Russell Parkway, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
