William "Bill" Roets, 79, entered into rest on Friday, July 19, 2013.
Bill was born on February 27, 1934, in Monches, Wisconsin. He served in the Wisconsin National Guard, 32nd Division, 121st Field Artillery Unit. In 1952, Bill began working for Continental Can Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1979, he transferred to the Baltimore, Maryland plant and then onto the Perry, Georgia plant where he was plant manager until he retired in 1989. Bill was an avid bowler, even acquiring a Life Membership with the Warner Robins Bowling Association. He was their president from 1990 – 2003 and he started the association's in-school bowling program. Bill was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Macon. His parents, Wilmer and Catherine Roets and his son, Daniel Roets all preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Mary Roets, children, Joseph Roets (Kathy), Milwaukee, Wisconsin; William Roets, II (Diana), Stafford, Virginia; Jennifer Manchiraju (Kiran), Villa Rica, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Amy Roets, Huntsville, Alabama, and sixteen grandchildren.
Rosary and Visitation will be Monday, July 22, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with interment following in Holy Cross Chapel & Mausoleum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Saturday, July 27, 2013. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to Agape Hospice, 3312 Northside Drive, Macon, Georgia, 31210.
