On the evening of Saturday, December 2, 2023, William "Bill" Lewis Bell peacefully entered into eternal rest.
Bill was born on April 26, 1949, in Lodi, Ohio to the late John and Pauline Bell. After his family relocated to Warner Robins, Georgia from West Salem, Ohio, he attended Northside High School. Bill dedicated many years of his life as a foreman/supervisor at YKK until his retirement in 1995. He was a man of strong convictions and always looked out for the well-being of his loved ones. Bill lived a simple life, and his dependability was unmatched - he was always there for you when you needed him.
He found joy in various hobbies, including fishing, gardening, watching western movies, playing solitaire, putting together puzzles, baking, golfing, and passionately cheering on his favorite team, the 49'ers. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Whether it was attending school functions, recitals, or supporting them from the sidelines at various events, Bill's love and support were unwavering. He delighted in surprising his daughter, Sheryl, enjoyed leisurely rides around town with his best friend, Richard, made regular visits to check in on his son-in-law, Kip, and embarked on memorable journeys across the country with his riding buddy, Bailey. Known for his sense of humor, Bill loved cracking jokes and sharing laughter. He had a fondness for classic country music, but a favorite he shared with his grandson, Kylar, was “Careless Whispers” by George Michael. Bill was always punctual, he arrived early because he believed that being on time meant being late. You could often find him with a cigarette in hand, engaging in lively conversations with friends and family and shooting the breeze. He kept a close eye on the weather and served as the family's personal meteorologist, reminding them to leave the faucet dripping or warning of impending storms. His loved ones could always count on his daily calls, as he diligently maintained a schedule to stay connected with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Bell, and his brothers, Bobby Bell, and Jim Bell.
His memory will forever be cherished by his devoted daughter, Sheryl Rice, and her loving husband, Kip Rice; grandchildren, Natasha Rice, Marco Rice, Sierra Rice, and Kylar Rice (Stephanie); great-grandchildren, Leyton Harris, Demi-Ann Rice, Ayden Rice, Kenadi Melvin, Cory Rumph, Da'Mere Thomas, Nalani Taylor, De'Angel Thomas, Milan Rice, and Camila Rice; sister-in-law, Karen Bell, and her children, Connie Marie Dalton (Todd) and Gina Suber (David); cousins, Janet Grube and Chris Crebs; best friend, Richard Cox (Mary); close friends, Karen and Tom Welsh, Jamie Nicholas, and Bailey Holliday; and his ex-spouse of 25 years, Deborah Holliday, along with a host of other dear family and friends.
To celebrate his life, a visitation with Bill's family will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. As per the family's request, the burial will be private.
