William “Bill” Henry Stults, a beloved father, grandfather, and devoted servant to his faith, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on Thursday, November 7, 2024. Born and raised in Gibson County, Tennessee, on September 23, 1929, to the late Henry and Louise Stults, Bill's roots ran deep in the rolling hills of the town he called home, East Ridge, TN. Though he spent his later years in Warner Robins, Georgia, and was proud of the life he built there, he always considered himself a Tennessean at heart.
His time at Lambuth College was a brief year, but his sense of duty and commitment to his education and service shaped the man he would become. A proud veteran, Bill enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, where he honorably served his country before going on to earn a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Tennessee Tech University.
Bill's greatest joy in life was his family. He was a loving husband, a dedicated father, and a doting grandfather. His unwavering love for his family was matched only by his devotion to his faith. For many years, he was an active member of Brainerd Methodist Church, where he played an integral role by running the sound system for services. A man of deep conviction, Bill’s faith was a guiding light in all that he did. He had a lifelong passion for music and was an avid guitar player. Bill will be deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Wallis.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 65 years, Reba Culberson Stults; children, Linda S. Nipper (Jay) of Elberta, Alabama, and William C. Stults (Kim) of Warner Robins, Georgia; grandchildren, Joshua Nipper (Julie) of Charlottesville, Virginia, Dr. Parker Stults (Lauren) of Atlanta, Georgia, Peyton Stults, and Addison Stults, both of Warner Robins, Georgia; great-grandchild, Rylee Nipper; sister, Sharon Stults of Nashville, Tennessee, along with many other loving family members and friends.
At the family’s request, services at McCullough Funeral Home will be private. A graveside service will be held at Chattanooga Memorial Park on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., where Bill will be laid to rest.
