William Mathis, 62, entered into rest on Saturday, May 25, 2019.
William was born on November 16, 1956 in Fort Valley, Georgia. Having lived most of his life in Fort Valley, William graduated from Peach County High School in 1975. He eventually moved to Warner Robins, his home for the last twenty-four years. William enjoyed collecting model cars, playing solitaire, watching scary movies and drinking his favorite Wild Irish Rose. However, his greatest love was his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
His father, George Mathis, and brother, Edward Cliett, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving mother, Annie Mae Mathis of Warner Robins; children, Shauna Morton of Macon, William Morton (Zo) of Atlanta, Maurice Smith of Washington and Kamaya Dickson of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Shaunice, Diana, Nicholas, Christopher, Aaliyah, Aniyah, Aniyah, Orion, William Jr., Takashi and Akira; three great-grandchildren and siblings, Jessie Clark, Shirley Ann Clark, Beverly Lawson, Ambry Mathis, Frances Howell (George “Tommy”), Jacqueline Mathis, Leslie Mathis, all of Warner Robins, Clarence Mathis (Madeleine) of Texas and Elnora Long (Jerome) of Virginia.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at McCullough Funeral Home.
