On Monday, April 2, 2018, Bill/Buddy Sanders, as he was called by family, passed from a lengthy illness and entered in the arms of his Lord.
Bill was born on August 31, 1938 in Pike County, Alabama in the small town of Troy. Bill served in the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corps during the Bay of Pigs. He was previously employed at Continental Foods. Bill loved children and animals very much and was a caring man. He was of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joel D. Sanders; brother, Alvin Sanders; sister, Joyce Sanders Wooden; great-granddaughter, Valentine Lampe; great-grandson, Adonis Lampe; Stepson, Bryan L. Davis, and step-granddaughter, Sydney Elizabeth Davis.
He is survived by his wife of twenty two years, Teresa Bearden Sanders; daughter, Kelley Sanders Lampe (John); grandsons, Trevor and Dmitry Lampe; granddaughters, Halie and Mikhala; great-grandchildren, Emi Gibson and Kallie Jackson; half brother, Virgil Henley (Dorothy); sisters-in-law, Deborah Wright (Donald) and Sandra Salasky (Mark), and brother-in-law, Verlin Bearden (Diane); stepson, Scott Davis (Gina); step-grandchildren, Anna, Aaron, and Amanda Davis, several nieces, nephews, as well as pets, Zeva, Pete, and Scarlett.
A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery where Bill will be laid to rest with Pastor Harold Hatton officiating. The family will greet friends on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of William D Sanders to Serenity Hospice Care, 1057 North Houston Rd, Warner Robins, GA 31093.
