William Derrell Long, Sr.

William Derrell Long, Sr., born on March 30, 1940 in Byron, GA, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022. A 1958 graduate of Warner Robins High School, he was employed for 29 years at Piggly Wiggly Southern. Mr. Long was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Washington Long and Lois Rape Long; one sister, Barbara Stewart; and one infant brother, Homer Washington Long, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Vivian Thomson Long; son, William Derrell Long, Jr. (Doris); daughter, Jackie Dean (Mark); grandchildren, Adrien Wheeler (Chad), Derrell Long III (Brittany), Nathan Dean (Kali), Caleb Dean (Whitney) and Landon Andrews; great-grandchildren, Emily Long, Nova Long and Sadie Dean; sisters, Catherine Jones and Kay Bailey (Thomas); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

At the family’s request, all services will be private.
