William "Pops" Drescher, 99, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 23, 2017.
Born in Brooklyn, New York on August 21, 1917, Pops was the son of the late Frederick and Mary Henderson Drescher. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and retired from Lexington Electric as a welder. Mr. Drescher was also a member of the IBEW Union Local 3 and of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy Elizabeth Drescher; and siblings, John B. Mirman and Florence Clark.
Pops' memory will forever be treasured by his loving sons, William G. Drescher of Indian Harbour Beach, Florida and James F. Drescher (Kathy) of Kathleen; grandchildren, Jennifer A. Johnson, Laura L. DeCamp, William Drescher, Andrew Drescher, and Thomas Drescher; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 13th at St. Patrick Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Mr. Drescher will be laid to rest in a private graveside service at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of William F. Drescher to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088 or to St. Patrick Catholic Church Building Fund, 2410 GA Hwy 127, Kathleen, GA 31047.
