William James Wellborn

William Wellborn, 82, entered into rest on Saturday, October 10, 2009.

Mr. Wellborn was born on May 6, 1927 in Americus, Georgia. With pride and honor he served his country in the Army Air Corps and retired Civil Service from Robins Air Force Base. A former city councilman for Centerville, he was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Centerville. His parents, Johnny and Adrain Wellborn, and brothers, Lester and Lanier Wellborn preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of fifty-six years, JoAnn Wellborn; daughters, Catherine Flynn, Brenda Johnston (Albert) and Sherry Wellborn, all of Warner Robins; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and four nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, October 12, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Centerville with interment following in the Centerville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society 804 Cherry Street Suite A Macon, Georgia 31201 or JoAnna McAfee Childhood Cancer Foundation, Inc 107 Crest Pointe Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
