William Milton Hale, Sr.

February 19, 1922 — May 19, 2013

William Milton Hale, Sr., 91, passed away peacefully in his sleep, on Sunday, May 19, 2013.

He was lovingly known by all his children and grandchildren as "Gankie", a term given by his first grandchild. Mr. Hale was born on February 19, 1922 on a farm in Talbot County, Georgia to the late William Thomas Hale and Lillian Gertrude Anderson Hale. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church in Thomaston, Georgia. He was a loving, devoted husband and father and always tried to teach his children to do what was right. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life. Gankie retired from Robins Air Force Base where he dedicated many years of employment as an electronic and mechanical technician. His parents and his beloved wife of sixty- five years, Mary Ludie Carpenter Hale, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his sons, Milton (Deb) Hale, Nassau Bay, Texas, and Wayne (Patti) Hale, Gray; daughters, Verleen (Moses Perdue) Charles, Yatesville, Ealeen (Tom) Glover, Warner Robins, and Betty (John) Richardson, Macon; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.
