William Oscar Wood

William O. Wood, 80, entered into rest on October 17, 2010. Mr. Wood was born on August 9, 1930 in Attapulgas, Georgia. His son, William O. Wood, Jr., and parents, John Willard and Jo Cora Wood, preceded him in death. Faith Baptist Church of Bonaire was his church home. Mr. Wood was a retired cabinet maker and carpenter. A timeless community servant, he also cooked BBQ for Bonaire Elementary's Annual Community Fund Raiser, as well as for several other schools in Houston County for over twenty-five years.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Vivian Wood; children, Mike Wood (Becky), and Johnny Wood (Georgia), all of Perry (formerly of Bonaire); six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Sylvia Wood Lanier (Jimmie), of Williston, Florida, and Jean Wood Hall (Reynolds), of Crossville, Tennessee.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 19, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Faith Baptist Church in Bonaire, with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins Georgia 31088.
