William Richardson, Jr.

January 23, 1934 — October 9, 2009

William J. Richardson, Jr., 75, passed on as he slept on October 9, 2009, after an extended illness. He had just had a visit with his immediate family: wife Sharon Potter Richardson; daughters Alisa Gainous, Tiraje E. Richardson; Dana C. Taylor; and grandson Joshua Gainous, all of Warner Robins.

Mr. Richardson was born on January 23, 1934 in South Shore, Kentucky. He was loved by his parents, William and Olive Richardson, Sr., and his younger brother, Gerrold M. Richardson, who all preceded him in death. Like his father before him, he was a thirty-second degree Mason of the Methodist faith.

Jim, as he was called by friends and family, was honored to serve his country in both Korea and Vietnam for the United States Air Force. He retired after twenty-two years, and went on to work for defense companies like Lockheed and Northrop. Mr. Richardson was accomplished in his chosen field, and traveled the globe in pursuit of his goals. After retiring to Warner Robins, he worked for Sears in Centerville.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, in the chapel at McCullough Funeral Home, with private interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Heart Association, 3312 Northside Drive, Suite 1040A Macon, Georgia 31210-0429.
