Rufus Plunkett, 81, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 6, 2011.
Mr. Plunkett was born on February 14, 1930 in Joppa, Alabama. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Army. He later retired from civil service working as a Materials and Equipment Inspector. He attended First Baptist Church of Bonaire. His wife of fifty-five years, Dorothy J. Plunkett; and parents, John Nolan Plunkett and Lydia Plunkett, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, William Russell Plunkett, Terry Plunkett, David W. Plunkett, and Wayne Plunkett, all of Bonaire; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; sister, Frances Hardester, Ocala, Florida; and brother, John H. Plunkett, Macon.
Visitation will be Friday, July 8, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2011 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Reverend Kenny Rodgers officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
