William Hunley, 81, entered into rest on Saturday, January 17, 2015.
William was born on March 3, 1933 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He worked at Avondale's Dairy in Knoxville before joining the Air Force. William attained the rank of Master Sergeant working as an electrician and munitions specialist before retiring after twenty-one years of honorable service. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He then went on to work for eighteen years as an aircraft electrician on the F-15 and C130 at Robins Air Force Base. William enjoyed working on cars, gardening and raising goats and chickens. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.
His parents, William and Mattie Hunley, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Rose Marie Hunley, Perry; children, Debra Kay Howell (Jeff), Lawrenceville, Georgia; William Verlin Hunley, Jr. (Dorothy), Bonaire; Judith Ann Fowler, Perry; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
