William Dale Wimpy

July 31, 1956 — September 12, 2024

Warner Robins

William Dale Wimpy, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, entered into Heaven’s gates on Thursday, September 12, 2024. Born in Manchester, Tennessee, on July 31, 1956, Dale was the son of the late William and Eleanor Wimpy.

As a devoted member of Green Acres Baptist Church, Dale served as a Deacon, AWANA leader, and youth leader alongside his wife. His love for missions was evident in his generous support and earnest prayers. It was of the upmost importance to him to share the love of Jesus Christ with others.

An avid outdoorsman, Dale had a profound appreciation for the natural world. He found joy in hiking, skiing, and immersing himself in nature's beauty. His adventurous spirit was matched only by his deep connection with his loved ones. He cherished his travels with his wife and family creating a tapestry of shared experiences and joyful memories. While his children were younger, Dale was always involved with all their extracurricular activities. His laughter, often sparked by witty one-liners, was a gift to all who knew him.

A dedicated professional, Dale retired from his role as an electrical engineer at Robins Air Force Base, where his expertise and commitment were evident. He earned his master’s degree and made significant contributions to his field, leaving a legacy of innovation and excellence.

Dale’s legacy will endure through the many lives he touched, the memories he created, and the love he shared with those around him. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who were blessed enough to know him.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, Sandra Smith Wimpy of Warner Robins; and children, Ana Darsey (Jonathan) of Byron, and Dima, Micah, and Natalie Wimpy of Warner Robins. He is also survived by his adoring grandbaby with whom he shared a very special bond, Jon Parker “J.P.” Darsey; and his dearly beloved sisters, Jan Roberts of Tracy City, Tennessee, Sandy Wimpy, Debbie Wimpy (Eddie Wiggins) of Coalmont, Tennessee, and several nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, September 16, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Green Acres Baptist Church. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. Afterward, William Dale Wimpy will be laid to rest privately.
