Willie Frank Cosby

Willie Frank Cosby, 69, entered into rest on January 5, 2023.

Willie was born on August 23, 1953 in Perry, GA, where he grew up and attended Perry High School for a short time. He graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1971 and worked at the Piggly Wiggly before joining the U.S. Marine Corp in 1973. Willie served in Vietnam and Saigon as a radio operator. He was medically discharged in 1976 and returned to Warner Robins, GA where he worked in Civil Service as an electronics technician at Robins Air Force Base. Willie lived all over the country, as well as in Okinawa, Japan, while he worked as an Information Networking Engineer for ATT, Verizon and Primus Communications. During his career, Willie also began working on, and eventually earned his certification as a computer programmer.  In December of 1975, Willie married Rose Halliburton, mother of Jessica and Mandesa.

Willie loved music of all genres, and he was known for being outspoken and headstrong. He was a family man who loved his children and grandchildren. He was a motivator and always pushed his children to excel and better themselves. In 1996, he and his daughters all came to Christ and were baptized together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Drew and Jessie Walker Cosby; and a brother, Lewis Cosby.

His memory will forever be treasured by his daughters, Wykeyshia Stokeling (Randy) of Perry, GA, Jessica M. Cosby of Warner Robins, GA and Mandesa Francisca Cosby of Lithonia, GA; grandchildren, Bre Stokeling, Maraya Stokeling, Kaliyah Jefferson, Destine Jefferson and Carmen Cosby; siblings, Clarence Cosby and Marilyn Cosby.

Willie will be laid to rest with a graveside funeral service at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 14, 2023 in Tharpe Cemetery.

The family will accept flowers or memorial donations may be given to a fund benefiting Willie Frank Cosby. These gifts can be made payable to McCullough Funeral Home with “Willie Cosby Memorial Fund” written in the memo line.
