Willie James Evans, 92, entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 23, 2013.
Mr. Evans was born on February 25, 1921 in Gray, Georgia to the late Ozzie Freeman Evans and Nora Callila Batchelor Evans. A resident of Warner Robins since 1953, he was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church. Willie retired from Robins Air Force Base after dedicating many years of service as Chief of Assembly. He was a kind, gentle man who loved life and enjoyed making others smile. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. His parents, his beloved wife of fifty-six years, Lora Thelma Haddock Evans, siblings, Claude Evans, Ernest Evans, Daniel Evans, Mattie Dee Haddock, Ollie Cavendar, and Ruby Wicker, all preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, James David Evans, Warner Robins; Sandra J. Kopp, Titusville, Florida; Linda G. Keller, Bossier City, Louisiana; siblings, Joseph Evans, Milledgeville; and Edna Evans Comer, Gray; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 25 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2013 Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
