Winston Tucker, 85, entered into rest on Thursday, October 22, 2009.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2009, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Chaplain Todd Shearin officiating. The family will receive friends at McCullough Funeral Home immediately preceding the service, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Tucker was born on November 6, 1923 in Alapaha, Georgia. He retired from Robins Air Force Base as a sheet metal mechanic after thirty-three years of faithful service and a number of overseas assignments, notably in Greece, Italy and the South Pole. He called Crestview Baptist Church his church home.
His parents, Lige Tucker and Fanibel McClellan Tucker, preceded him in death.
He will live in the hearts of his wife of thirty-eight years, Betty Jean Tucker, Centerville; son, Gary Winston Tucker, (Tracey), Jackson, Tennessee; daughter, Shirlee T. Johnson (Hugh), Waynesboro; step-daughter, Joyce Smith (Everett), Cumming, step-sons, Buford Hines (Diane), Palm City, Florida, Terry Hines, New Market, Alabama and Edward Hines, Hobe Sound, Florida; seventeen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister, Sara Collins, Redlands, California; two nephews and one niece.
