Winton B. Cain, 88, entered into rest on Thursday, February 6, 2014.
Winton was born on September 22, 1925 in Perkinston, Mississippi to the late Flavius and Nita Cain. He was a long-time faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Asbury Sunday School class. Winton was a graduate of Mississippi State University where he earned his bachelor's degree and was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. With courage and commitment, Winton served his country in the United States Army during World War II. A video interview or Mr. Cain's World War II experience can be found at www.witnesstowar.org. He retired from Robins Air Force Base as Director of Civilian Personnel for the Air Force Reserve. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Nan Cain.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, LaVerne Day Cain; son, Mark Cain, Warner Robins; son, Brian Cain and his wife Kim, Marietta; step-son, Kenneth H. Watson, Cocoa, Florida; grandchildren, Caitlin Cain, Greenville, South Carolina; and Ben Cain, Marietta.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 8 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Trinity United Methodist Church. Entombment will follow in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
