On the morning of Monday, September 11, 2017, Zack Martin went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in heaven. He was 44 years old.
Zack was born in McRae, Georgia on October 17, 1972. A graduate of Telfair County High School, Zack worked civil service in Production Management at Robins Air Force Base. Southside Baptist Church was his church home.
Zack’s life can be summed up in one word: family. His family was his passion, and his life centered around his wife and daughters. He coached his girls in Upward basketball, soccer, and softball as well as in track. All of his free time was devoted to being with his beloved family. Zack never met a stranger, and his genuine love for people was conveyed by his caring and giving spirit to all he met.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Cindy Johnson Martin.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 15 years, Violet Martin of Warner Robins; daughters, Janie Lucianna and Avery Katherine Martin; sisters, Wendy Martin of Warner Robins and Teressa Martin of Lorton, Virginia; cousin, Susan Long (Allen) of Eastman; and a host of other extended family.
Visitation with Zack’s family will be Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating his life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017, at Southside Baptist Church. Zack will be laid to rest in Studstill Cemetery in Telfair County, Georgia at 4:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be given to the Zack Martin Scholarship Fund with the Houston County Association for Gifted Children, 1100 Main Street, Perry, GA 31069.
