On the evening of Wednesday, December 14, 2022, Zelda D. Gibson, passed away peacefully at home, at the age of 92. She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Edward Lee Gibson, her late parents, Jeff and Jewel Dennard, and others who passed before her.
Zelda was born on April 14, 1930, in Finleyson, GA and later moved to Warner Robins with her family. She was a 1949 Graduate of Warner Robins High School and proudly attended Mercer University. Following her time in college, she worked as a secretary for Vernon Brown at Second Baptist Church, then for the Naval Station in Byron, and finally completed a 35-year Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base from where she retired. Zelda was a charter member of Second Baptist Church and was a much-loved Sunday School teacher. She went on to become a faithful member of Green Acres Baptist Church. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and spending time with her family.
Zelda’s loving daughter, Elizabeth Gibson of Warner Robins, is left to cherish her memory.
Visitation with Zelda’s family will be on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Rev. Billy McKinney officiating. Zelda will be laid to rest next to Edward in Magnolia Park Cemetery following the service.
